Wisz, a 2022 All-American and two-time All-Pac-12 honoree, joins the Wolf Pack after a successful stint as an assistant coach at San Diego State. Under the guidance of head coach Stacey Nuveman Deniz and alongside Victoria Hayward, Wisz contributed to the Aztecs' impressive 70-37 record, including two Mountain West Championships and a 2023 NCAA Super Regional appearance. In 2023, Wisz and Hayward helped San Diego State secure a Mountain West Championship and advance to the NCAA Super Regionals, marking the program’s first appearance at that stage. Wisz’s role as a volunteer assistant coach that season saw the team win 39 games and finish just shy of the regular season championship.
In 2024, Wisz was promoted to a full-time Assistant Coach, leading the Aztecs to a Mountain West regular season championship and another sweep of the Mountain West Tournament, ensuring a third consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. A standout player during her college career, Wisz split her time between UCLA and Loyola Marymount. At UCLA, she was part of two Women’s College World Series teams and earned NFCA Second-Team All-American honors in 2022 with a .405 batting average, 16 home runs, and 63 RBI. At LMU, she was named to the All-WCC Second Team as a sophomore and All-WCC honorable mention as a freshman. Wisz is also a current professional softball player with Athletes Unlimited. She earned a third place medal in AUX in 2024.
Cutler brings a wealth of experience to Nevada as a pitching coach, having previously held similar roles at St. Joseph's University and Nicholls State. At Nicholls State, she played a key role in developing Brittany Turner, who ranked in the top 10 of the Southland Conference in wins, complete games, and innings pitched. Her coaching career also includes a significant stint as a graduate assistant at Fresno State in 2021, where she contributed to the team’s Mountain West championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.
Before transitioning into coaching, Cutler was a standout player at UConn, where she was a four-year starter and earned American Athletic Conference All-Conference honors twice, along with AAC All-Rookie accolades as a freshman. Her versatility on the field included pitching and playing at the hot corner. As a senior captain, she led the Huskies to their best start in 20 years. Cutler holds a bachelor’s degree in sport management from UConn, underscoring her strong foundation in both athletics and academic principles.
Celis concluded her collegiate career with a standout season at the Washington Huskies, where she batted .313, earned a spot on the All-Pac-12 Defensive Team, and was named to the All-Pac-12 Third Team. This followed a successful four-year stint at San Diego State, where she distinguished herself as a two-time all-conference honoree. Over her career with the Aztecs, Celis maintained a .316 batting average, hit 16 home runs, and tallied 50 doubles. Notably, she ranks fifth all-time in San Diego State history with 37 doubles, including a record-setting 13 in her freshman season.
During her time at San Diego State, Celis played under Hayward, who served as the associate head coach in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, Wisz, who was a volunteer assistant at San Diego State in 2023, also had the opportunity to coach Celis. These coaching experiences contributed to her development and success throughout her collegiate career.
After completing her initial two years at the University of Oregon, Gabby Herrera concluded her collegiate playing career with a remarkable final season at the University of Nevada in 2024. During this standout year, she was honored as the Co-Mountain West Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Mountain West and Second Team All-Region accolades as an outfielder. Herrera's exceptional performance included a .392 batting average and record-breaking statistics in home runs (17), RBIs (65), and total bases. Prior to her tenure at Nevada, Gabby competed for the Ducks, where she batted a career average of .268 during her freshman and sophomore years.
Following the end of her illustrious playing career, Gabby transitioned to a significant role on the coaching staff as the Director of Player Development. This new position coincided with Victoria Hayward’s inaugural season as head coach of the Pack, allowing Herrera to leverage her extensive playing experience to contribute to the team's growth and success from a developmental perspective.
